The Artists Pushing the Boundary of Contemporary Art

Our 2025 art fair booth weaves together a narrative on the interplay of  texture, history, and human interiority.

Hunt Slonem’s neo-expressionist works anchor the collection with their playful energy and tactile illusion. His signature bunnies, birds, and butterflies celebrate life through texture, light, and shadow. Eric Alfaro’s impasto portraits expand this dialogue, offering a human counterpoint. His expressive use of gestural, visible paint strokes imbues his subjects with palpable emotion and life.

Caroline Dechamby’s works add a conceptual layer by reinterpreting art history with bold, empowering narratives. Her iconic reimaginings reclaim iconic masterpieces, positioning herself as both muse and creator, challenging traditional narratives and inviting collectors to do the same. Zhuang Hong Yi’s "flowerbed" paintings, that shift in color and form, symbolize growth and transformation and redefine the boundaries of two-dimensional art.

Cuban artist Santos shifts the focus to abstraction, crafting pieces that explore the relationship between raw, instinctual action and meticulous craftsmanship. Sylvain Tremblay introduces a sculptural dimension, merging physical texture with the metaphysical. His works challenge the boundaries of the traditional frame, creating forms that connect the tangible and the conceptual. Mr. Brainwash injects the collection with vibrant energy and cultural commentary, blending pop art and street influences into explosive works that resonate with humor and depth. Chance Cooper concludes the curation with his exploration of perception, bridging minimalism with complex narratives to challenge how we view and engage with art.

  • Who is Caroline Dechamby?

Throughout her career spanning over three decades, Caroline Dechamby has used art and history as a source of appropriation through which to develop her own niche, and place of resonance for her audience, within the largely male-dominated canon of painting. Dechamby’s paintings re-asses masterpieces by household names — among them Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Piet Mondrian, as her own, painting herself (either full-bodied or as silhouette) into the pieces in the act of creation.

In doing so, Dechamby symbolically and visually takes back the field from “the boys” reimagining art history in her own vision, and allowing for viewers, especially female viewers, to envision themselves too in the empowered position of creative genius in place of the artist’s painted avatar.

His technical mastery and keen-sightedness capture true gesture; a personal seal that despite being figurative, does not lack space and sense.

  • Santos Artwork Preview

  • Who is Santos?

Jorge Luis Santos is a Cuban artist whose work embodies the bold exploration of abstract art, pushing the boundaries of traditional mediums and techniques. Despite the often unconventional tools he employs—whether it be a brush taped to a long pole, the sole of his shoe, or even a mop—Santos's work retains a profound sense of intentionality and depth. The duality of his creations, where raw intensity meets meticulous craftsmanship, amplifies the uniqueness of his art. His work stands as a testament to his ability to innovate while remaining connected to the emotional and psychological undercurrents that define his practice.

  • Sylvain Tremblay Artwork Preview

  • Who is Sylvain Tremblay?

Quebecois artist, Sylvain Tremblay is internationally recognized for his profound intersection of texture, human expression, and nature. Tremblay's paintings are marked by a contrast of high-gloss varnish and matte surfaces, creating a dynamic interplay between the subject and its surroundings. This approach, combined with his use of relief and surface manipulation, makes his works seem to step out of the canvas, offering a captivating, almost sculptural presence.

The human figure, often elongated and abstract, forms the core of his work, embodying universal themes of humanity and emotional sensitivity. He leaves much to the viewer's interpretation, encouraging personal engagement with his art, where the boundaries between figure, space, and perception become fluid.

Tremblay’s art has been exhibited worldwide, including in prestigious galleries such as Opera Gallery and Galerie d’art Iris. He represented Canada at the G20 in China, the Venice Biennale of Art, and the 2020 World Expo in Dubai. He has also contributed to immersive art projects, such as the 2014 sand fresco in the Dubai desert and a live painting event at the Arab Fashion Week in Dubai.
