Welcome to Carousel Fine Art's Palm Beach gallery in the heart of West Palm's NORA District.

This Summer, Carousel Palm Beach brings together works across sculpture, mixed media, and glass by a tightly selected group of international artists: Evelyne Brader-Frank's mirror-polished steel abstractions, Zhuang Hong Yi's hand-folded rice paper flowerbed paintings, Punk Me Tender's layered mixed media butterfly works, and Isabelle Scheltjens's glass fusing portraits.

Now at Carousel Fine Art: Punk Me Tender

Street Art and the Language of the Butterfly

Punk Me Tender, a compression of Daft Punk and Elvis Presley, creates with glamour, rebellion, and the desire to be remembered. His signature subject is the butterfly. It appears in every work: as silhouette, as dimensional aluminum element, as the organizing principle around which spray paint, original photography, Swarovski crystals, diamond dust, glossy acrylic coatings, and three-dimensional metallic flourishes accumulate and cohere.

The influences Punk Me Tender cites include Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, and Salvador Dali. His mixed media surfaces sit at the intersection of street art and high fashion: formally ambitious beneath the spectacle, and technically specific in a way that casual observation misses.

On view in West Palm Beach, “170” (2021) is a 60 × 60 inch aluminum butterfly and diamond dust. The piece demonstrates what makes his practice genuinely distinctive: the depth and color field beneath the dimensional elements reward close attention in a way the image alone does not prepare you for. Punk Me Tender is exhibited in more than thirty galleries internationally. His work has been placed by luxury hospitality brands including SLS and Nobu, and is held in private collections across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

    Mosaic Portraiture with Isabelle Scheltjens

Glass Fusing Portraits That Shift Between Abstraction and Image

Isabelle Scheltjens arrived at her defining technique entirely by chance: in her husband’s glass workshop, she made a portrait of her daughter from fragments of colored glass. The result surprised her. It surprised the people who saw it. What it revealed, a method in which precision and optical chance could coexist, in which a legible image could dissolve into pure color and geometry depending only on where you stood, became the foundation of everything she has made since.

Her glass fusing process is unlike anything else in contemporary portraiture. Working with up to twenty thousand hand-cut pieces of glass, each no larger than three millimeters, in varying colors, textures, and densities, Scheltjens builds her works in two or three layers, then fires the entire composition at over 800 degrees Celsius. What emerges is a single fused surface: from close range, a field of color, geometry, and light with no clear image; from across the room, a portrait that crystallizes into startling resolution. The effect recalls the pointillist logic of Georges Seurat translated into three-dimensional material, color achieved through accumulation rather than blending, presence built through tens of thousands of decisions the viewer never consciously registers.

Her work has been exhibited in New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Dubai, Amsterdam, and London. “Urban Chicca,” on view in West Palm Beach.
