Cayla Birk's "Take the Lot"
The next stop on artist Cayla Birk's American Tour: Chicago!
After debuting in Miami and Atlanta earlier this year, Carousel Fine Art is thrilled to bring this captivating and witty series to the Midwest. "Take the Lot" is Birk's visual exploration of Mexican Lotería cards. Lotería, which translates to "lottery" in Spanish, is a game of chance and luck.
-
With this context in mind, the series spotlights objects that are not so easily earned. The juxtaposition of luck and the monetary success required to acquire such high-end assets is a recurring theme throughout the collection. The end result is a collection of witty, playful art full of dimensionality and contemporary commentary.

ArtistsAbstract Art with Jorge Luis Santos
This August, we're proud to showcase the work of Jorge Luis Santos, one of Cuba's most influential abstract artists.
About Jorge Luis Santos
Born in Quivicán, Cuba, in 1973, Santos is a master of artistic innovation. Utilizing materials as diverse as acrylic, oil, mixed media, found objects, iron, and wood, Santos has become known for his uniquely visceral masterpieces of abstract art.
Despite the often unconventional tools he employs—whether it be a brush taped to a long pole, the sole of his shoe, or even a mop—Santos's work retains a profound sense of intentionality and depth. In Chicago we are exhibiting several new works by Jorge Luis Santos, including "Flores Moradas" and En La Nieve."
