    Lita Albuquerque is an internationally celebrated American artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans installation, painting, sculpture, and public art. Emerging in the 1970s as a key figure in the Land Art and Light and Space movements, Albuquerque has spent over four decades exploring the relationship between human consciousness, the natural world, and the cosmos. 

     

    Lita has exhibited at major institutions across the globe, and her work is included in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Getty Trust, MOCA Los Angeles, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, among others. Albuquerque has received numerous prestigious honors, including the top prize at the Sixth International Cairo Biennale, grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, and a National Science Foundation Artist Grant. Her career-long investigation of time, space, and perception continues to position her as one of the most important and visionary artists working today.
