  • Who is Stikki Peaches?

    Who is Stikki Peaches?

Stikki Peaches is one of Canada’s most sought-after contemporary street artists—an anonymous Montreal-based artist known for fusing pop culture, classical references, and graffiti art into multi-layered visual statements.

Since first appearing on the streets in the late 2000s, his wheatpasted posters began popping up in cities like New York, Paris, London, and Berlin—instantly recognizable for their collage mashups of historical figures, comic book heroes, and celebrity icons.

Working under a pseudonym, Stikki’s practice is rooted in the DIY ethos of street art while drawing from fine art, fashion, and punk culture. His mixed-media pieces—ranging from wheatpaste murals to tile assemblages and works on canvas—blend pop culture with hand-painted details, intricate symbolism, and deconstructed tile work, making each piece a complex, textured, one-of-a-kind statement. With collectors including high-profile figures like Lady Gaga and exhibitions at Art Basel Miami and many international art galleries, his work continues to gain international notoriety.

What is Stikki Peaches' Artistic Process?

Stikki Peaches' artistic process involves the careful construction of a patchwork of influences —from 1980s cartoons to punk subculture—the artist imbues each with personal references and found materials gathered from thrift stores, travels, and the artist’s own collections. His portraits are a blend of intuition, nostalgia, and meticulous layering. Working across mediums such as collage, silkscreen, acrylic paint, and wheat-paste, the Montreal-based artist creates deeply symbolic compositions that collide pop culture icons, vintage imagery, and political irony.

While rooted in street art traditions, his process pushes beyond simple paste-ups, instead weaving in hand-painted details, reclaimed wood, deconstructed tile, and nuanced symbolism. Stikki’s attention to detail creates what he calls “beautifully controlled chaos,” inviting viewers to uncover layers of meaning, wit, and nostalgia with each glance. Every work is pre-planned yet open to the spontaneity of “happy mistakes,” resulting in pieces that are deeply personal and unmistakably his own.
