Who is Hamilton Aguiar?
Hamilton Aguiar is a Brazilian artist who draws inspiration from the world around him, meticulously crafting a range of subject matter including seascapes, landscapes, florals, and abstract concepts.
Born in Brazil in 1965, Aguiar draws inspiration from mural art as well as his background in interior design. Applying design methodology to abstract painting, Hamilton concerns himself with spatial arrangement and the interaction of light to activating sensorial experiences. By meticulously paintings waves of extremely thin lines and experimenting with graduations of colors, Hamilton is able to create the illusion of three dimensionality on a two dimensional surface.
Hamilton Aguiar has created his own neo-figurative language through variations of flat colors and graduations of intense, chromatic colors. Through this technique, the artist invites to explore the depths of the picture plane and to convey a sense of tranquility
Moving to Miami, Florida in 2013 Hamilton Aguiar began to picture the landscape of southern Florida in his paintings and sculptures. Throughout his "Flowers" collection and "Seascapes" series, Aguiar takes his inspiration from the Floridian landscape and visualizes it through many different forms.
Hamilton has experimented with many different mediums including copper, wood, and canvas. The mixed media artist has had his works displayed in many galleries and exhibitions spaces across the United States and Latin America.
