Biography
Multidisciplinary artist, Kai, creates captivating naratives about the human condition through a simplistic figurative style that draws inspiration from pop art and street art.

Kai, was born  in Los Angeles, California and raised by a French-Tunisian father and Mexican-American mother. Kai's diverse upbringing surrounded him with a unique blend of heritiages that helped shape his artistic vision. 

 

Beginning his artistic journey at the age of 14, Kai transformed the streets of his hometown into a canvas. Inspired by his blended family, Kai created his signature character, "IF" (Imaginary Friend), with the aim of making it warm, relatable, and impactful, regardless of color, sex, or race. 

 

Kai's often paints his signature character "IF," in both humorous and poignant situations, commenting on contemporary events and universal themes such as love, anxiety, money, and care. The artist has a unique ability to explore powerful messages and universal themes in simplistic, yet creative ways.  

 

Kai's artistry spans various disciplines, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and installation. However, his single-frame storytelling, signature "IF" character, and use of cement have become hallmarks of his work.

 

Kai has exhibited in cities across the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Paris, and Austin, Kai's collections have been showcased at prestigious cultural events and art venues such as Miami Art Basel and ComplexCon.

 

Passionate about making his art accessible to all, Kai tirelessly works to bring "IF" to life in every corner of the world. His murals, stealthy cement installations, and gallery work can be found not only in major cities like Atlanta, Miami, and New York but also in international locations such as Amsterdam, London, Paris, Hebron (Israel), and Beijing.
