WHO IS ARTIST MARCO GRASSI?  

Born in Italy, Marco Grassi is known for creating a distinct style of portraiture by blending surrealism with urban art.

  

Drawing influences from Baroque art, surrealism, and contemporary styles Grassi creates captivating portraits. Building gold monochromatic backgrounds, Grassi's subjects stand in stark contrast. His distinctive use of gold leaf also serve to make his works immediately recognizable. His minimal pops of bright color, visible brushstrokes, and mixed media results in captivating subjects that are both realistic and surrealistic.

 

Marco's dimensionality and gestural brushstrokes add emotional depth to his portraits. The subtle facial expressions of his subjects, coupled with the movement in his work, establish a sense of movement and interiority.
