Biography

Street artist Flore aims to strip away the filters society places on our lives, challenging habits, rules, and stereotypes through a unique artistic style that combines the influences of graffiti art, pop art, with the iconography of contemporary society.

Who is Street Artist Flore?

Christopher Florentino, professionally known as Flore, is an American contemporary artist born in Brooklyn, New York. Inspired by contemporary art icons Keith Haring, Jean Michel Basquiat, and George Condo, Flore's style similarly merges elements of pop art and street art. However, Flore's art is distinct from his predecessors due to the influences of 21st century graffiti culture as well as contemporary society.

Flore's artistic approach involves intentionally selecting words that offer multiple interpretations, physically manifesting these written words with layers of meaning, both concealed and exposed, he seeks to deconstruct societal norms. His canvases, filled with distractions, serve as reflections of society while also creating a space for viewers to develop their own narratives.

Influenced by the late Keith Haring, Flore integrates graphics and text to interpret the various experiences and nuances of the world. Within his art, Florentino draws inspiration from a diverse array of sources, including music, conversations, and philosophical works, such as the texts of Alan Watts. Through his art, he paints colorful connections of these motifs that also reflect his connection to these elements.

With studio spaces in Miami and New York, Flore has collaborated with renowned brands like Hublot, Ted Baker, and Tommy x Gigi. His work ks also showcased in the permanent collection of the Nakamura Keith Haring Museum.

Flore's colorful pieces can't help but captivate viewers, drawing them in to explore their own interpretations. Each artwork tells a story, inviting viewers to join the artist's creative mind and find inspiration within themselves.
