Biography

Through a unique style that combines the influences of graffiti art, pop art, with contemporary societ, Street artist Flore aims to strip away the filters society places on our lives, challenging habits, rules, and stereotypes. 

Christopher Florentino, professionally known as Flore, is an American contemporary artist born in Brooklyn, New York. Influenced by the likes of Keith Haring, Jean Michel Basquiat, and George Condo, Flore's distinct style merges elements of pop art and street art.

 

His artistic approach involves intentionally selecting words that offer multiple interpretations, creating a space for viewers to develop their own narratives while evoking introspective emotive moments. Using written words with layers of meaning, both concealed and exposed, he seeks to deconstruct societal norms. His canvases, filled with distractions, serve as reflections of society's entanglements.

 

Influenced by the late Keith Haring, Flore seamlessly integrates graphics and text to interpret the myriad experiences and nuances of the world. Flore draws inspiration from a diverse array of sources, including music, conversations, and the philosophical insights of Alan Watts. Through his art, he delves into motifs that reflect his profound connection to these elements, creating a rich tapestry of expression.

 

With studio spaces in Miami and New York, Flore's reach extends globally. He has collaborated with renowned brands like Hublot, Ted Baker, and Tommy x Gigi. His work is showcased in the permanent collection of the Nakamura Keith Haring Museum.
